There is a marble monument to Thomas d’Arcy (died 1593) on the north wall of the north chapel erected by his wife, Camilla Guicciardine of Florence. There are two kneeling figures and smaller ones representing three sons and six daughters. The man is represented in armour with his wife at a prayer-desk. The work is attributed to Garat Johnson the elder (Good, 2004; Pevsner, 2007, 790; Hough, 1983, 162; NMR, 2007). The memorial marks the end of the family as the three sons represented "dyed all yonge" (www.st-nicholas-tolleshunts.org/).

The inscription reads:

Heere lyeth interred the Boddye of Thomas Darcy Esquier

Who died ye 14^th daye of November in the yeere of 

Owre lord 1593: he was sonne to Thomas

Darcy Esquyer: he was descended from  ye honorable

Howse of the Lord Darcy Barone of chich by

Margaret Syllyarde his wife: he left his

Wyfe Camylla behind him: a sorrowful and

Greeved wyddowe: that by her father is descended

From ye noble house of ye Gycciardynes wth the

Dukedom of Florence and whoe in his memory

Hath erected this monument, beying the laste

Duty ye ever hir ‘constante affection is able to

Performe: by this wife he had, three sonnes, 

Whoe dyed all yonge : and 6 daughters , whereof

Margaret, Mary, Elizabeth, Bridget and

Francys now lyvinge are left coheyrs of his

Howse and Patrymony.
